About Us
We opened in 2006 with a small warehouse full of gear and a promise: “Talk to a drummer, not a customer service rep” (TM).
At the time, surviving independent drum retailers served mostly local clientele, while “big box” and catalog stores treated our instrument as an afterthought. We set out to become a new type of specialty drum shop, embracing e-commerce and offering fair prices and expert, drummer-to-drummer service to everyone, whether in person or over the phone or internet.
We grew quickly and built an inventory thoughtfully curated for drummers ranging from beginners to professionals, including one of the world's largest collections of cymbals, from Agop to Zildjian. If you need it, we have it.
Drop us a line ahead of time to try out your selections on a professionally tuned and maintained drum kit in the studio where we produce our Video Vault (TM) demos. If you can't make it to the shop, we'll ship gear to your doorstep, even internationally, if the manufacturer allows it.

POLICIES
SHIPPING
We offer free shipping to the 48 states of mainland USA on most orders of $99.00 or more, and a flat rate of $9.95 on orders below that threshold. Contact us for a quote elsewhere, including Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico, or for orders which could ship safely in an envelope. Please note that manufacturers may limit our ability to ship outside of the USA and its territories to protect their local distributors.
Items listed for sale on our website are generally eligible for the free shipping offer described above. We may exclude certain oversized or fragile items, and we’ll quote any extra charges in advance, for example during the special order process described below.
Actual shipping charges incurred are not refundable, whether the customer paid for them or we did (as part of the free shipping offer described above).
We generally use UPS and USPS at our discretion, but can use FedEx and DHL upon request. If you prefer a certain courier or wish to waive any signature requirement, please let us know in advance.
We ship in-stock orders on the same or next business day whenever possible.
RETURNS
We generally accept the return of items listed for sale on our website. The following terms apply:
*Please contact us within 7 days of receiving an item to initiate a return;
*The item must arrive back at our warehouse in exactly the same condition as it was when it left;
*You are responsible for the charges and risk of return shipping;
*We may limit the number of returns allowed over multiple orders, and if so, we’ll inform you in advance.
Some items are not eligible for return:
*Special orders, including but not limited to custom made items;
*Items marked “final sale” or similar in the description on our website or on an outside platform such as Reverb;
*Items purchased as part of a trade-in arrangement;
*Items subject to hygiene requirements, such as ear plugs, unless factory sealed.
SPECIAL ORDERS
Custom gear is a significant component of our business, so we’re always happy to work with you from the price quote to the first downbeat and beyond. We generally ask for a deposit of 50%, with the balance due when your item is ready for shipping or pickup. That deposit is not refundable, and an order cannot be cancelled once placed. We’ll do our best to accommodate any change orders along the way, but please note that they’re not always possible, especially later in the process.
WARRANTIES
Items listed in the “Used Gear” section of our website are used and carry no warranty. A new item may be covered by factory warranty, and we’ll assist you with any claim that should arise. Please note that you are responsible for the charges and risk of any shipping required.
